Jonathan Schacher is the visionary founder and owner of Grupo Vision, a leading technology company founded in 2002 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

With a strong finance background from Bentley University and a Masters in International Business from Florida International University, Jonathan has brought Grupo Vision to the forefront of technological innovation in Central America and the Caribbean. Under his leadership, the company has created over 3,000 jobs and has been instrumental in transforming the region’s technology landscape. Beyond his business successes, Jonathan is deeply committed to philanthropy and supports various charitable initiatives that combine entrepreneurship with community service.

What inspired you to start Grupo Vision and how did your educational background contribute to your vision for the company?

My inspiration for founding Grupo Vision came from a desire to use technology to solve real-world problems and drive economic growth in Central America. My education at Bentley University and Florida International University gave me a solid foundation in finance and international business, which was critical to understanding market dynamics and identifying growth opportunities. These experiences taught me the importance of strategic planning and adaptability, which are critical to our success.

How do you balance the pursuit of technological innovation with the need for sustainable and socially responsible practices?

The balance between innovation and sustainability is a core principle of Grupo Vision. We believe that technological advances should not come at the expense of our environment or our communities. That’s why we invest heavily in green technologies and sustainable practices. For example, our renewable energy and resource conservation initiatives aim to reduce our environmental footprint while stimulating economic growth. Our approach ensures we can innovate responsibly and create long-term value for all our stakeholders.

Can you share with us a major challenge you faced on your path to Grupo Vision and how you overcame it?

One of our biggest challenges was the initial resistance to introducing new technologies in a traditionally conservative market. Convincing companies and governments to embrace digital transformation required persistent effort and a clear demonstration of the tangible benefits. We overcame this by focusing on education and partnership. We organized workshops, seminars and pilot projects that demonstrated the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our solutions. Building trust and demonstrating real-world impact were key to overcoming this hurdle.

How do you promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation at Grupo Vision?

Fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation is critical in the technology industry. At Grupo Vision von Jonathan SchacherWe encourage our employees to pursue lifelong learning through access to the latest online courses, workshops and industry conferences. We also promote a collaborative environment where ideas can be freely exchanged and explored. Innovation labs and cross-functional teams are an integral part of our organizational structure and allow us to stay ahead of industry trends and continually improve our offerings.

What role does philanthropy play in your business strategy and how do you choose the causes you support?

Philanthropy is an essential part of our business strategy. We believe successful companies have a responsibility to give back to the communities they support. The causes we support are closely related to our core values of education, healthcare and environmental sustainability. By investing in these areas, we want to have a positive impact that goes beyond our business activities. Our philanthropic approach is strategic and focused on initiatives that have the potential to create sustainable, long-term benefits for the communities we serve.

Can you discuss a project or initiative that you are particularly proud of at Grupo Vision?

One initiative I am particularly proud of is our AI-driven agriculture project. This project uses AI technology to help farmers optimize their crop yields and manage resources more efficiently. By providing real-time data on soil health, weather conditions and pest infestation, we enable farmers to make informed decisions that increase productivity and sustainability. This initiative not only increases agricultural production but also supports rural communities by improving their economic stability.

How do you envision the future of technology in Central America and what role will Grupo Vision play in that future?

I envision a future where technology drives inclusive growth and development across Central America. As digital infrastructure improves and more people gain access to advanced technologies, we will see significant advances in sectors ranging from healthcare and education to agriculture and manufacturing. Grupo Vision will continue to play a critical role in this transformation by providing innovative solutions that meet the region’s unique challenges. Our focus will continue to be on leveraging technology to create sustainable economic opportunities and improve the quality of life for people across the region.

What advice would you give to aspiring tech entrepreneurs in Central America?

My advice to aspiring tech entrepreneurs is to stay curious and embrace lifelong learning. The technology industry is evolving rapidly and it is crucial to stay informed about the latest trends and developments. Additionally, focus on building strong networks and partnerships. Collaboration can open doors to new opportunities and provide valuable insights that can advance your business. Finally, always consider the social impact of your work. Strive to create solutions that not only generate profit, but also make a positive contribution to your community and the environment.

How do you stay motivated and maintain your passion for technology and innovation?

Staying motivated in the technology industry is relatively easy because the field is inherently dynamic and exciting. The potential to bring about meaningful change through innovation motivates me in my work. Additionally, it is incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact our projects have on communities and know that we are contributing to a better future. Having a talented and dedicated team around me also helps keep my enthusiasm high. Your energy and creativity are constant sources of inspiration.

What legacy do you want to leave behind through your work at Grupo Vision?

I hope to leave a legacy of positive transformation. I want Grupo Vision to be remembered not only for its technological innovations, but also for its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. I want our work to serve as a model for how companies can drive economic growth while making a significant contribution to society and the environment. Ultimately, I hope our efforts inspire future generations of entrepreneurs to innovate with purpose and work toward a better, fairer world.
