A native of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Schacher’s journey in the business world began at Bentley University and Florida International University, where he cultivated a deep understanding of finance and international business. As the founder and CEO of several innovative companies, including Grupo Vision, he has transformed Central America’s business landscape by driving technological advances and creating thousands of jobs. Beyond his entrepreneurial endeavors, Schacher is deeply committed to philanthropy, supporting initiatives such as sustainable development, education and community empowerment.

How did your upbringing and education shape your approach to business and technology?

Growing up in Tegucigalpa, I was surrounded by a family that was deeply involved in various business ventures. This environment instilled in me the values of hard work, innovation and resilience. My education at Bentley University and Florida International University gave me a solid foundation in finance and international business, which was critical to understanding market dynamics and identifying growth opportunities. These experiences taught me the importance of strategic planning and adaptability, which were an integral part of my approach to managing Grupo Vision and other companies.

What inspired you to focus on integrating technology into traditional industries like real estate and agriculture?

I have always been fascinated by the potential of technology to transform traditional industries. In regions like Central America, where these sectors are critical to the economy, integrating technology can drive efficiency, sustainability and growth. In agriculture, for example, AI and IoT can optimize crop yields and resource management, addressing challenges such as climate change and food security. In the real estate sector, intelligent technologies can increase the efficiency and sustainability of buildings and thus improve urban living conditions. My goal has always been to use technology to create meaningful and lasting impact on these important sectors.

How do you balance your business activities with your philanthropic commitment?

Balancing business and philanthropy is deeply rooted in my belief that success is measured not only by financial achievements, but also by the positive impact we make. I ensure that our business strategies at Grupo Vision and other companies are aligned with our philanthropic goals. For example, our projects often incorporate sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and the community. By supporting education, healthcare and community development initiatives, we aim to create an ecosystem where businesses thrive alongside their communities. This holistic approach ensures that our growth contributes to the overall well-being of society.

Can you share a significant challenge you faced in your entrepreneurial journey and how you overcame it?

One of our biggest challenges was overcoming skepticism about new technologies in traditionally conservative markets. Convincing stakeholders about digital transformation required persistent effort and clear proof of value. We have addressed this issue by focusing on education and partnership. Organizing workshops, pilot projects and demonstrating real-world benefits helped build trust and demonstrate that technological advances can increase both efficiency and profitability. By fostering collaborative relationships and highlighting success stories, we have been able to overcome resistance and enable wider adoption of innovative solutions.

How do you promote a culture of innovation in your organizations?

Fostering a culture of innovation begins with creating an environment that encourages creativity and risk-taking. At Grupo Vision, we value continuous learning by providing access to the latest industry trends, technologies and training programs. We also encourage cross-functional collaboration, where different teams work together to solve complex problems. Recognizing and rewarding innovative ideas and projects further strengthens this culture. By maintaining open communication and encouraging experimentation, we ensure our teams are constantly looking for new ways to improve and innovate.

What role does sustainability play in your business strategy?

Sustainability is a core principle of our business strategy. We recognize that real progress requires a balance between economic growth and environmental protection. This is reflected in our commitment to renewable energy, waste reduction and sustainable resource management in all our projects. For example, in real estate, we incorporate energy-efficient designs and green building technologies to reduce our environmental footprint. In agriculture, we use smart technologies to optimize resource use and promote sustainable agricultural practices. By integrating sustainability into our operations, we aim to create long-term value for both our company and the planet.

How do you stay motivated and maintain your passion for innovation?

In an industry as dynamic as technology, staying motivated is relatively easy. The potential to drive meaningful change and the excitement of discovering new solutions excite me about my work. It is incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact our projects have on communities and know that we are contributing to a better future.
